The PBIS Committee is taking nominations for faculty shout-outs this year. Teachers at Covington High submit nominations and the PBIS Committee reviews and recognizes those extra steps that our faculty take! Students, please consider giving a deserving staff member a shout-out as well. Just give your suggestion(s) to any teacher to make the nomination! A student said that she finally understands math because Ms. Jerez was able to explain the material in the student's native language- Spanish! The student's math skills have improved thanks to Ms. Jerez's teaching!
Ms. Doyle does so much for Covington High that people don't even realize. She not only teaches all day, but also handles all student activities on campus. If there is an event, she is involved in some way behind the scenes!
Mr. Roy Baham's leadership and support can be seen all over campus, as our school is always sparkling clean. He is always helpful and kind!

Ms. Lesley Becker- Mrs. Becker was observed by numerous teachers conducting a lab to simulate an oil spill. All students were engaged and she made real life connections to the Exxon Valdez and BP oil spills. The students had to assign roles to their group members, discuss a plan of action and work together towards their goal of deciding what materials were the best to cleanup the oil spill.
Ms. Flattmann- She always makes sure that students and teachers are having fun and that students are receiving an education. She makes people want to be here!
Ms. Cefalu- She has done an amazing job helping with a Chemistry class after the teacher left.

Mrs. Senez is constantly working to ensure that her students feel included and that they are engaged in her class. She always has a smile on her face and you can see her positive attitude’s effect on each and every student that walks into her room. We are very lucky to have Mrs. Senez as a teacher at CHS.
Ms. Richardson is a team player and is always willing to step up and help out wherever she is needed. She maintains a positive attitude and sunny demeanor. CHS is very fortunate to have Ms. Richardson here.

Ms. Cutrer is friendly and willing to help anyone with their technology needs. She goes above and beyond to help solve issues within the school and she loves her job!
Ms. Vjotaskovic is an incredible teacher. She makes sure the kids are learning, following the rules, and know that they are loved. Her influence reaches other teachers as well- you will often find other teachers in her room getting help! She is always positive and is a role model for teachers and students alike. Her work with the Key Club has been fantastic!
Ms. Caminita not only offers teachers help with any needs they may have, but she also creates assignments for students that coincide with teachers' assignments! She is always finding ways for the library to stay active for the students and is willing to help with, not just teachers, but administrators. She is as involved in Covington High School as she could possibly be and is always willing to lend a hand. She is always thinking of new and creative ideas to engage students while keeping her positive, upbeat attitude. Ms. Caminita is the epitome of what a librarian should be and more!
Besides being an excellent example for our student athletes, Mr. Fontenot willingly allows students to come to him for help at any time! His influence allows plenty of students to live up to the potential they have. Mr. Fontenot is dedicated to teaching and to the people of the community as well!

Mrs. Nugent has done an excellent job this year with the Mane News program. Students are eager to participate, watch, and discuss what is going on at school. She has created an uproar by creating an energy in the classroom that will inspire kids to lead the Mane News programs with complete autonomy and professionalism. Creating a culture at Covington surrounded by excitement for upcoming events and a chance to be recognized weekly by your classmates is a great thing!
Mrs. Hudmon does an outstanding job with her students and is always willing to go the extra mile to help them. She fosters an environment of collaboration and support for all her students. She has also been instrumental in the success of the Robotics team at CHS as well as the new SeaPerch Underwater program!

Mrs. Houidobre created a teaching and learning environment that is based on real world events. Every student that (the nominator) has spoken with loves her class and respects her immensely.
Mr. Laird is leading the way in transforming the landscape around Jack Salter Stadium, which is adding tremendous beauty to our school and giving students pride in their campus!
