Automotive Technician- 1 year elective
Grade 11, 12
This course offers specialized instruction and practical shop experience to prepare students with entry level skills in the servicing and maintaining of all types of automobiles. Students are prepared to sit for the ASE Student Certifications in the following fields: Brake Systems, Electrical/Electronic Systems, and Suspension/Steering Systems. Preferential seating will be given to students on the Tops Tech diploma pathway.
Basic Tech Drafting- 1 year elective
Grades 10, 11, 12, Prerequisite: Geometry
This course introduces students to the technical elements of drafting, which include instruments, lettering, sketching, applied geometry, projections, pictorial representation, dimensioning, sectioning, symbols, auxiliaries. Students will use AutoDesk AutoCAD software as they become proficient in drafting skills.
Advanced Tech Drafting- 1 year elective
Grades 11, 12, Prerequisite: Successful completion of Basic Tech Drafting
This course builds upon skills learned in Basic Technical Drafting and prepares students to sit for the AutoDesk AutoCAD industry-based certification.
Pre-Apprenticeship I: Carpentry- 1 year elective
Grades 11, 12
This course is a prerequisite for Carpentry Pre Apprentice II class and is designed to introduce students to the construction crafts and trades. Units focus on careers in the field, construction mathematics, safety, and basic hand and cutting tools for cutting, shaping, fastening, and finishing. Upon successful completion of the units, students will become certified in Career Connections Core industry-based certification.
Pre-Apprenticeship I: Welding- 1 year elective
Grades 11, 12
This course is a prerequisite for Pre Apprenticeship II: Welding class and is designed to introduce students to the construction crafts and trades. This course is designed to introduce students to the crafts of the trade of welding. Units focus on oxyfuel cutting and shielded metal arc welding. Upon successful completion of the units, students will become certified in Career Connections, Level 1 industry-based certification. Preferential seating will be given to students on the Tops Tech diploma pathway.
NCCER Welding-DUAL ENROLLMENT ONLY- 1 year elective
Grades 12
This course prepares students for careers as entry-level welders. Modules cover topics such as welding safety, oxyfuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, air carbon arc cutting, weld quality, base metal preparation and SMAQ. Students in this course are prepared for certification in NCCER and Welding, Level 1. Preferential seating will be given to students on the Tops Tech diploma pathway.
CTE Internship- 1 year elective
Grade 11, 12
CTE Internship is a work-based learning program that provides opportunities for students to receive on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in Career and Technical Education program areas.
