COVID-19 Information
To report your child as being COVID-19 positive or having been in close contact to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please email Assistant Principal belinda.pennison@stpsb.org or call Mrs. Pennison directly at 985-809-9589. Parents reporting their child as positive will need to include a copy of the positive test result as well. Screen shots or snapshots from mobile devices are welcome.
Close contact is defined as being within six feet of the positive person for more than 15 minutes total in a 24 hour period during the time that person has Covid or in the 48 hours prior to the positive person’s onset of symptoms with or without a mask, sharing food or utensils, or drinking after one another.
If your child is ill and you are keeping them home due to symptoms, please email Mrs. Pennison so those days may also be documented properly.
You MUST notify the school of all positive cases, close contacts, or of symptoms for the student’s attendance to be corrected.
Students who are isolated because they are positive for COVID-19 or who are quarantined for close contact, should show as a 66N Medical Quarantine under their attendance in the STPPS Student Progress Center.
All parents, guardians, and students are encouraged to utilize the Student Progress Center to monitor attendance and grades routinely.
If you do not have access to this, please contact Mrs. Marla Pike in the front office for directions on that as well as your student’s PSN.
If your child has any of the symptoms as listed below, please know that he/she may not return for ten days unless they see a doctor or have a COVID-19 negative test. The student must turn that into the front office or email it to Mrs. Pennison or attendance secretary Rhonda Buisson at rhonda.buisson@stpsb.org
There are no longer any forms for parents to sign for their child to return to campus after quarantine or isolation.
Also, any student who tests positive may bypass any close contact quarantine for 90 calendar days after the date of their positive test. For us to remove the student from contact tracing on campus, the positive results must have been turned in to CHS.
Lastly, please ensure students are logging onto their Google Classrooms and completing any assigned work. This is applicable for any kind of absence on campus. Students may email their teachers and/or counselor directly for assistance.
