Multimedia Productions: An Evolution of Technology
The Multimedia class is a course that teaches students how to create both music and videos using the computer. It was first offered in 2006 at Covington High, and each year through the support of the administration and the hard work of the students, we can see huge improvements in production quality. We've created a timeline of technological progress displaying how the course has changed since the beginning. Enjoy! |

CHS Student Handbook Online
Please review our 2010-2011 Student Handbook (pdf) for changes in policies this year. Among the changes: our dress code (page 7) has been tweaked and we have a new attendance policy (page 4):
With the start of the 2010-2011 school year, the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education revised the state law attendance policies. Students will be allowed five (5) absences per semester. For the five absences these rules will apply:
Absences of two (2) or fewer consecutive school days incurred due to personal illness or serious illness in the family may be validated by a parent or caregiver written excuse note.
Absences for three (3) or more consecutive days or for other types of absences, a student must present a note from a physician, nurse practitioner, or dentist to be excused.
Extenuating circumstances will be considered but must be approved by the Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance.
State law will allow for the following exceptions to the attendance regulations:
o
Contagious disease documented by physician or dentist
o
Documented extended illness or hospital stay
o
Observance of special and recognized holidays of a student’s own religious faith
o
School – approved field trips
o
Death in immediate family
Students considered habitually absent will be reported to the Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance.
