Clubs
Band..........The CHS Marching Band.
COE .......... is a program which consists of a computer class,
a job in an office environment, and membership in the COE club. Activities
include a float in the Homecoming parade, a Christmas Luncheon, and end of
the year Banquet, and a variety of other activities. You can apply for
COE at the end of your Junior year.
Dancin' Darlins'..the CHS dance team.
FCA .......... Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a nondenominational
Christian organization for athletes and all who they influenced. The
club is student led and gives students the opportunity to share opinions
on topics in a Christian environment.
FFA .......... Future Farmers of America club is an organization
for students interested in opportunities in the fields of agriculture.
FFA participates in many workshops, judging contests, and conventions
during the year. Membership requirements are that you must stay
enrolled in an agriscience classes and pay the yearly dues of $8.00.
FHA.......... Future Homemakers of America club helps youths
to assume active roles in society through Home Economics education
in the areas of family life , vocational preparation, and personal
growth. FHA holds a food drive in November, makes Christmas cards for
the elderly, and participates in many other community activities. Membership
is open to all and must attend all monthly meetings. School Sponsor:
Flag Team....the CHS flag team.
Foreign Language Club ........... this club is made up of students currently enrolled in a Spanish class or a French class and of those who have formerly been enrolled in a Foreign Language class. The club participates in many school activates and sponsors the annual Mr. CHS pageant as well as the Homecoming parade and dance and luminaries during the holidays. This club meets once a month. Hi-Y .......... A youth legislative club that teaches the fundamentals
of the political process by allowing the students to take over the
capital for three days in February. School Sponsor:
HOSA .......... Health Occupational Students of America is a
club for students interested in a future career in health care. Members
must be interested in healthcare and have a desire to serve. Membership
requirements include staying active in all club activities. School

LAPD... Fights the use and abuse of drugs and alcohol. School sponsor: Sonya Willie/ Lorrie Brinck
Lion's Roar...The Lion's Roar creates and distributes a weekly news bulletin to the school. School Sponsor: Margaret O'Connell
NHS .......... National Honor Society is an academic and service
club in which members participate in school , community, and service
activities. Members must have a 3.5 GPA and a teacher recommendation.
They participate in Homecoming and "Trykes for Tykes". School

Paw Prints....Creates professional-quality print jobs.
Quiz Bowl......Compete with teams from other schools via trivia questions. School Sponsor: Richard Lynch
Robotics Club...Participates in a yearly competition to design and build a robot capable of performing specific tasks. School Sponsor: Dr. Pat Edmiston.
Student Government Association...Leaders of the student body.
Yearbook......Designs and creates the yearly Yearbook. School Sponsor: Mrs. Marilynn Hawkins
