Critical Language Scholarship Recipient

Harry 2-Time Principal of the Year

Sharolyn V. Harry, class of 1989, has been selected as Lexington City Schools Principal of the Year for the second time! She is the daughter of two former STPS educators (Clemeal Harry, Principal Emeritus of Folsom Jr. High School and Rosie L. C. Harry, educator, Covington High School). White Christmas

CHS alum, Maria Hefte, was cast in the JPAS production of White Christmas with Talented Music teacher Mel Rogers in the pit orchestra.

CHS Talented Music alums, Lynn Bentivegna Burton and David Gambino performed with the Martina McBride orchestra over Thanksgiving break, which was conducted by Talented Music teacher Mel Rogers at the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi.

Alex Makes it to Nationals

Alex Varisco, CHS  class of 2014, a Senior at St Andrews University, North Carolina  recently qualified to compete at Intercollegiate Dressage Association Nationals in April. The competition will be held at Lake Erie College, Ohio.

Alum Brittany Bruhl to Pro Bowl

After being honored with 4 years as a New Orleans Saintsation, Covington High alumna Brittany Bruhl received the ultimate award of being selected to represent the New Orleans Saints as a Pro Bowl Cheerleader at the 2016 Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii. Being selected as a Pro Bowl cheerleader offers Brittany an opportunity to dance for a fifth year as a New Orleans Saintsation. Brittany is a 2010 graduate of Covington High School and a 2014 Louisiana State University graduate. Brittany is honored to represent the New Orleans Saints and Saintsations and is looking forward to an experience of a lifetime as she travels to Hawaii to participate in the Pro Bowl and all of the Pro Bowl activities.

Chris Callahan with ABC-Disney

Chris Callahan, a Talented Music class alum and CHS graduate, was recently hired by ABC-Disney to play a jazz musician on a TV series currently in production. The show, "The Astronauts' Wives Club", focuses on the wives of the original seven Mercury astronauts and will air this spring. The one-day, 12-hour shoot features Chris in a jazz combo playing at a party for NASA and Washington DC officials.
