This course covers topics in Algebra I at a slower, more in-depth approach
with emphasis on the review of basic mathematical skills. Students are
required to complete projects.
Algebra 1 (2782 A 2783 B)

This course includes working with properties or real numbers, equations and
inequalities, graphing, factoring, and arithmetic operations of polynomials,
rational expressions, relations, functions and variations. This course
will prepare students to advance into Algebra II and other college bound advanced
mathematics courses.
Financial Math (3072 A 3073
B)
Grades 11-12

This course is designed to provided a comprehensive review of the fundamental
principles using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals with emphasis
on percentages. The course includes calculations regarding selling, buying,
commissions, profits, discounts, income tax preparation, banking procedures,
consumer information and other topics pertinent to business transactions.
Geometry (2890 A 2900 B)
Grades 10-11

Prerequisite: A 'C' average or better in Algebra I.
This course is an informal approach to the topics of geometry. It includes
relationships between points, lines, and planes, congruencies and similarities
of polygons, properties of circles, constructions, areas, perimeters, volume
of plane and solid geometric figures.

Prerequisite: A 'B' average or better in Algebra I.
This course covers all the material taught in geometry with more emphasis placed
on proofs of theorems as well as interrelationships between algebra and geometry.
Algebra II (2830 A 2840 B)
Grade 11

Prerequisite: A 'C' or better average in Algebra I and Geometry.
This course includes properties of real numbers, sets and set notation, equations
and inequalities, graphing, systems of sentences, relations and functions,
complex numbers and quadratic equations.

Prerequisite: 'B' or better average in Algebra I and science majors.
Recommended: For future math or science majors.
This course takes the topics of Algebra II to a greater depth. In addition,
matrices, exponential and logarithmic functions, polynomial functions are covered.

Recommended: College bound students who have below an 18 on the ACT and
are not enrolled in Advanced Math.
This course prepares those students for college algebra. Students have
the opportunity to receive a 'PASS' status for Developmental Mathematics at
Southeastern Louisiana University upon successful completion of this course.
*$Trigonometry /MA 162 (3191 A)
Grade 12
1 semester
Prerequisite: Completion of Algebra II and an 18 or above on the math section
of the ACT.
This course is the study of trigonometric functions, which includes the graphing
of trigonometric functions, the inverse trigonometric functions, function identities
and the trigonometric triangle. Students may earn three hours of credit
in Math 162 at Southeastern Louisiana University for successful completion
of this course.
College Alg/MA 161 (3192 B)
Grade 12
1 semester
Prerequisite: Completion of Algebra II and an 18 or above on the math section
of the ACT.
This course includes the study of equations and inequalities, functions
and their graphs, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and
logarithmic function, systems of equations and inequalities, and topics
from analytic geometry. Students, may earn three hours of credit
in Math 161 at Southeastern Louisiana University for successful completion.
Advance Math (3191 A 3160 B)
Grades 11-12
1 year
Prerequisite: Completion or enrolled in Algebra II.
This course is for students who have had little or no trigonometry. It
includes trigonometry and advanced algebra topics.

B)
Grades 11-12
1 year
Prerequisite: Advanced math and trigonometry
Challenging course for students who excel in mathematics, and applications
will be explored. TI-83 calculator recommended. Small out-of-class
projects and nightly homework. This course prepares students to take
the AP calculus exam.
Personal Money Mgmt (3015 S)
Grade 12
1 Semester
Recommended: College bound students who have a thorough understanding of
basic math operations.
A one semester elective course emphasizing the practical use
of established mathematical principles in the areas of banking, insurance,
and investment strategies. In addition, home financial management
computer programs will be utilized.
