July 31st- Leadership Lock-In

August 1st and 2nd- New Student Registration at Covington High

August 1st- 9:00 AM- Sunrise Breakfast, must RSVP
August 1st- 10:00 AM- Freshmen Orientation
August 1st- 1:00 PM- Sophomore, Junior, Senior Orientation

EMT Simulation

Mrs. Houidobre and Mr. Mendoza teamed up to create a simulation of a disaster in the auditorium. EMT students had to respond, perform triage, and care for the "wounded." No theatre students were actually harmed in this simulation.

Academic Achievements

PTSA Contest Winners

The results are in from this year's PTSA Safety Poster and Reflections contest, themed "Heroes Around Me". 

State winners are: Elizabeth Lewis, Caleb McLain, Raymond Vo, Alicia Diaz, Hannah Cummings, Ginina Biondini, Hannah Pogue, and Kamryn King

National winner:
Covington HIgh's very own, Hannah Cummings, won at the National level, receiving an Award of Merit, for her photograph:

Elizabeth Sings for State

Cedric Bridges brought Elizabeth from the Covington High School Choir to sing the national anthem for the official open of the State Legislature’s 2019 Regular Session yesterday!

Art Collaboration

Six of Covington High's art students have been selected to participate in a special collaboration with New Orleans artist, Brandan "BMike" Odums, in honor of Woman's History Month.

They are: Harmoni Brown, Michael Cargo, Kaitlin Languirand, Amiirah Morman, Sarah Scarlato, andNaomi Vang.

100% ASE Certifications

All of Mr. McCord's Automotive students at Covington High passed their ASE certifications this year! Mr. McCord's students at Fontainebleau, Mandeville, and Lakeshore all passed their certifications as well.

Business Department Certifications

The Advocate released an article about the success the CHS business department has had with certifications. This past fall, over 150 students received their Microsoct Word certification, with three students receiving perfect scores. At the same time, 125 students so far have received Adobe certifications, bringing Covington High's total over 250 since introducing the certification last year! Four students have also received the Adobe Visual Design Specialist certification. Read the full article here!
