French 1...Grades 10-12- 1 year elective. This course covers the pronunciation of the alphabet, sentence structure, and conjugation in the present tense. Listening and speaking exercises are used throughout the course. Students will be exposed to the culture and geography of France. Projects done outside of class will reinforce culture lessons.

French 2...Grades 10-12- 1 year elective. Completion of French 1 with a grade of "C" or better. This course covers listening, speaking, and writing exercises. The past and future tenses will be covered. Emphasis will be placed on speaking and conversation. Students will be exposed to the art and literature of France. Projects done outside of class will reinforce culture lessons.

French 3... Grades 10-12- 1 year elective. Prerequisite: Completion of French 2 with a grade of "C" or better. This course covers listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises. The conditional tenses and the subjunctive mood will be covered. Students will have opportunities to study in more depth French culture, including art and literature. Projects done outside of class will reinforce culture lessons.

Spanish 1... Grades 10-12- 1 year elective. This course covers the alphabet, pronunciation, stress, conjugation of verbs in the past and present tense of the indicative mood, sentence formation exercises, and listening comprehension exercises. Students are also introduced to the cultures and geography of Spain and Latin America.

Spanish 2... Grades 10-12- 1 year elective. Prerequisite: Completion of Spanish 2 with a grade of "C" or better. This course emphasizes new vocabulary for reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It reviews the grammar covered in Spanish 1. It includes regular and irregular verbs in the present, preterit, and imperfect tenses. This course covers culture, traditions, and some historical facts of Spain and Latin America.

Spanish 3... Grades 10-12- 1 year elective. Prerequisite: Completion of Spanish 3 with a grade of "C" or better. This course reviews the grammar of Spanish 2, and expands the use of grammar in verbal and written communication. It covers verbs in the present, preterit, imperfect, future, conditional, subjunctive, and compound tenses. Culture will be discussed through film, literature, art, and geography. Listening, speaking, and writing will be used throughout the course with special emphasis on conversation.
