About The Teacher:
I
received my BA in English from Louisiana Tech University, my teaching
certificate from Loyola, and my M Ed and art certification from Southeastern
Louisiana University. I've also attended Tulane University and
Delgado. I have 30 graduate hours beyond my master's degree and
am certified to supervise student teachers.
I have taught for 21 years, ranging from pre-school to university. Eighteen
of those years have been in St. Tammany Parish: Southeastern Louisiana
Hospital, Slidell High School, William Pitcher Junior High, and for the past
twelve years, Covington High School. At CHS I've taught Fine Arts
Survey for eleven years, world history for one year, English I and II for a year,
Art I for five years, and Art II, III, and IV for two years.
Art is my one true love, academically, and as a personal interest. My
work has been displayed at several galleries, and I've contributed my artwork
to fundraisers for various community charities.
My students at CHS are a constant source of pleasure
for me. I love seeing them take an art assignment, and through their own
wells of creativity, come up with results that are unique and wonderful.
