In the year 1981, Mr. Bankston became Principal of Covington High School.

Terry J. Bankston came from Laurel Mississippi. At the time of becoming Principal of Covington High School, he was 37 years old. He graduated from Laurel High School in the year 1961. He received his Masters plus 30 from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1973 and did his Post Graduate work at the University of Texas.

Terry Bankston began his career as a high school history teacher in 1964. In 1969, he became Assistant Principal of Covington Jr. High. Later in 1973, Mr. Bankston was chosen to be Principal of Covington Jr. High School. And in 1978 he became principal of William Pitcher, Jr. High School.
